It’s sometimes hard, as tourists, to find a truly local gem - Ta’ Salvina is exactly that. Super casual, bar diner (cum bowling alley?), with some exceptional home cooking. We went for the daily specials, which are all local delicacies off the standard menu. The snails are to die for! As was the rabbit and braised horse. If you are culinarily adventurous for a lunch, or just fancy an unusual beer snack (snails anyone?), do make sure to stop here.

Yummy!! We had two beef dishes for our mains and snails as a starter. It’s been ages since we’ve enjoyed such good beef in a restaurant. The portions were generous and everything tasted really fresh. The homemade apple pudding dessert was fantastic, a wonderful touch that’s so rare to find nowadays. Sailendro, the host, is super nice and polite with very good restaurant etiquette. I’ll give today’s experience a 10/10, and I’m not someone who usually does so.

What a great local restaurant, snuck away in the boat club. We had stewed snails, that were very tender and not chewy as can easily be done with snails. Also had rabbit livers on toast for started. Was disappointed that they’d run out of stewed horse, but the two way cooked duck more than made up for it. Duck, two ways were perfectly cooked. The Amberjack fish was also very well cooked and flesh came away from the bones perfectly. This downed with a lovely bottle of Maltese wine with 80s/90s high energy disco music. Staff were attentive and polite. Will certainly come back if I visit Malta again

Hidden gem by the docks. Lovely staff and really good service. Some interesting specials, but I went with their regular menu: a delicious octopus pasta. They also had local craft beer.

I have to start off with the server, he was great! Very kind in turning on the ac and fans for us and after our meal he provided us with refreshing towels, a very nice gesture which we appreciated. The ftira was very generous and also yummy. Overall a great place to eat, recommend for sure!

The highest level of service! Outstanding choice of dishes. We had delicious soup, an escargot dish and a horse meat steak, alongside with some local beer. Everything was top notch. The chef and the waiter were super helpful and friendly. We absolutely recommend this place.
